Field Trips of Terror

CUFF is teaming up with our friends at Bass Bus to take you on a ride into the unknown with our new summer screening series, FIELD TRIPS OF TERROR!

We will pick you up in the super cool Bass Bus behind the Sunnyside Safeway at 8:15pm (410 10th Street NW, directly beside the Sunnyside C-train station) and give you a ride to a super cool location where you will be welcomed with beverages, treats, music, activities and a badass movie. When the film is finished we will then shuttle you back to the Sunnyside Safeway. All of this for only $14! The ticket price will include the shuttle ride and two Big Rock beers. 

*If you do not want to join the party on the bus, you can meet at the location where admission will be by donation.

Screening #1: Thursday, August 14th (Pick-up at 8:15PM, Film at 9:45pm)

PUMPKINHEAD (1988, Dir. Stan Winston)
When a group of teenage bikers inadvertently kill his only son, bereaved farmer Ed Harley (Lance Henriksen) seeks the powers of a backwoods witch to bring the child back to life. But instead, she invokes “The Pumpkinhead” – a monstrously clawed demon which, once reborn, answers only to Ed’s bloodlust. But as the creature wreaks unspeakable tortures on the teens, Ed confronts a horrifying secret about his connection to the beast – and realizes that he must find a way to stop its deadly mission before he becomes one with the creature forever. Scares and screams aplenty in this blood-soaked 80s classic from special effects wizard Stan Winston (Terminator 1&2, Aliens, Predator).

Shaking bikinis, muscled surfers, a wanna-be surf babe with a split personality, a mom with an agenda, and a few severed body parts are just some of the problems facing Captain Monica Stark (Lauren Ambrose) when she is called to investigate a recent rash of gory Malibu murders. This wacky, hilarious, campy fusion of teenaged surfer flicks and slasher sagas is a cult classic that you won’t want to miss! Based on the 1987 off-broadway play of the same name.
